The Texas Department of Public Safety Communications and Command Unit is a thirty foot bumper pull style trailer with two eight thousand pound capacity axles and electric brakes. There are awnings mounted on the curb side exterior of the trailer. Two fifteen thousand BTU air conditioners with heat strips are mounted on the roof.
The forward section is the communications area and is the largest of the three sections. The communications section has a room expansion side out section built into the exterior street side wall to increase the working space in this section. Three work stations are provided in communications area.
The center section is the galley and has a microwave and cabinet work space, along with a refrigerator and sink. There is a bathroom built into the center section on the street side of the unit.
The rear section is the command and control area and also has a room expansion slide out section built into the exterior street side wall. An electrical cabinet in this section provides storage for additional electronic and communication equipment. A twelve KW generator is built into an external access sound reductions compartment to provide electrical power for the entire unit. This room has tables and chairs to provide a meeting room setting, along with 42" Smartboard" for the purpose of displaying satellite television and other information drawn from a variety of electronic sources.
